That's odd. I checked smart for any problems before uninstalling the drivers. 
There where no issues. I even reinstalled the drivers and still my system 
wouldn't boot (always stopped at starting udev) and being very consistent at 
that. In fact, I tried booting at least 20 times with either a hanging system 
at starting udev or a bunch of errors printed to the screen when starting 
udev. 

I hope I have some time tomorrow to check on this. I'll start by comparing the 
binaries than.
