The driver is fine now. I rebooted several times and each time it worked 
straight away.

Axel, what is the difference between the 0.7 on 
http://dl.ivtvdriver.org/ivtv/stable/ and the one on ATrpms ?

btw, I'm a bit in the wrong thread here (sorry for that). I'm not on X86_64.
