No.

A fresh install is always best. You should backup the mysql database
and all of /etc (and of course homes). Then you can reinstall w/o
changing lvm at all - just let the installer format the partitions and
let him know which partition was for /home, /boot etc.
Second best is to do a DVD upgrade.
