[ATrpms-users] FC4 - FC5 - FC6 Upgrade questions

Hey,

    I have a few questions, I decided to bring my FC4 mythbackend /
frontend  PC up to date with FC6. With regard to upgrade is it necessary
to upgrade in the following synchronous steps FC4 -> FC5 -> FC6 as 
opposed to FC4 -> FC6?


yum upgrade FC4->FC5 fails with

Error: yum conflicts with pirut < 1.1.4
Error: Missing Dependency: libcrypto.so.5 is needed by package rpm
Error: Missing Dependency: libssl.so.5 is needed by package rpm
Error: Missing Dependency: libssl.so.5 is needed by package xine
Error: Missing Dependency: libcrypto.so.5 is needed by package xine
Error: Missing Dependency: nvidia-graphics8756-kmdl-1:1.0_8756-74.fc5.at
is needed by package nvidia-graphics8756
Error: Missing Dependency: libneon.so.24 is needed by package rpm
Error: Missing Dependency: libneon.so.24 is needed by package librpm4.4


smart upgrade FC4->FC5 smart versions 0.42 -> 0.50 all  appear to
endlessly loop attempting to compute the transaction even when left over
night.

I have both the FC5 and FC6 DVDs and have considered performing a fresh 
install and symply importing my backed up mythconverge.sql. However, 
it's not that easy, I would have reconfigure everything, lvm, ivtv, well 
as I said everything.

I am looking to start a conversation really,
