[ATrpms-users] 2.6.17-1.2174_1.fc5.cubbi_suspend2 kernel not suspend2-enabled?

I have downloaded and installed the above kernel as well as the updated
mkinitrd-suspend2 (mkinitrd-suspend2-5.0.40-1.cubbi1),
pm-utilspm-utils-0.15-1.5cubbi_suspend2) and hibernate-suspend2
(hibernate-suspend2-1.93-0cubbi1) to support the upgrade.  However,
booting that kernel gives errors about the kernel basically not
supporting Suspend2:

echo: cannot open /proc/suspend2/userui_program for write: no such file 
or directory
echo: cannot open /proc/suspend2/do_suspend for write: no such file or 
directory
echo: cannot open /proc/suspend2/suspend2 for write: no such file or 
directory
echo: cannot open /proc/suspend2/do_suspend for write: no such file or 
directory

Attempts to manually hibernate gives:

[jguerdat at toshiba ~]$ sudo hibernate
hibernate: WARNING: Filewriter location given, but kernel does not have 
filewriter
hibernate: support. Ignoring.
Your kernel does not appear to have Software Suspend 2 support compiled in.
Please follow the HOWTO linked from http://www.suspend2.net/ for 
instructions
on how to compile Software Suspend into your kernel.
hibernate: Aborting.


Any suggestions?
