Thanks Axel.
Unfortunately, alsa and video4linux kernel modules don't seem to be
happy together on my system (ALSA won't load consistently). I had to
do it the "hard way" and compile the drivers from source. In doing
so, I did find out that v4l drivers don't like to compile on odd
numbered kernels - you have to remove a few line in the dvb_net.c
file to make it happy.
