I'm the moderator. At least from the current mailing lists. Did you
perhaps try to post to the old lists at sf.net?

But it looks like the issue is with hotplug and I'll create new
firmware packages to also place the firmware under
/usr/lib/hotplug/firmware. For now please just symlink the firmware to
that folder.
