The Myth default is to enable XvMC if it is included in the build, but there
was a 1-line patch added to the latest build to set it off by default.
However, if you've ever run an XvMC build before, then rebuilt a non-XvMC
build and ran that without turning XvMC off in your settings first, its
possible the new build is indeed running w/XvMC on, as we don't overwrite any
settings already in the db. Is your OSD in greyscale?

I'm running this build on four boxes, all without any ill effect right now,
though all have XvMC off at the moment (makes HDTV playback nice 'n' smooth
on my XP 1800, but frequently locks up on ffwd/rew). If you have XvMC off in
the settings, you could also try turning it on, then turn it back off, maybe
something is in a half-way state...

I presume you also upgraded libmyth to match (I hope apt/yum wouldn't let you
upgrade the frontend only)...
