Is it installable on EL4 ('apt-get update && apt-get install
mythplugins')? Just updated good and stable and it failed to install
(said there was no suitable candidate although it was in the
database). Likewise, 'apt-get install mythtv-suite' failed on
mythplugins and xmltv (I expected xmltv to fail based on your notes in
your previous msg.

Will do ;-) Eager to try it out today if the plugins can be installed!
As my laptop is another frontend, xmltv will not stop my testing.
