Are the deps not compilable on RHEL currently, or is it the case of
working through each dependency and getting them to compile somehow?

If there's light at the end of the tunnel and a ist of dependency
issues which I can try and work through I'd give it a go, otherwise I
might repartition to stick a more myth-friendly distro on and keep
WBEL4 purely for work!
