[ATrpms-users] ipw2200 and monitor mode

Hi all,

I was testing the last version of atrpm's ipw2200 packages and I have found
that it does not work with monitor mode. I have used the following rpm
packages:

ipw2200-1.0.4-28.rhfc3.at.i386.rpm
ipw2200-kmdl-2.6.11-1.27_FC3-1.0.4-28.rhfc3.at.i686.rpm
ipw2200-firmware-2.3-6.at.noarch.rpm

When run "iwconfig eth1 mode monitor" I get the following error message:

Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06):
     Set failed on device eth1; invalid argument

But the ipw2200 driver loaded for the eth1 interface is working without any
problem.

For testing, I have uninstalled the atrpm packages, then I have installed
the ipw2200 source package from http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/ and now the
"iwconfig eth1 mode monitor" command is working correctly.

Do you know what the problem is?
