It's hard to say without knowing exactly which version of ooo you're 
upgrading *from*.  I do know that later ooo builds remove quite a few 
superfluous dictionaries, but I don't think that would account for a 
whopping 250MB-worth of savings, though.  Also, consider that kde-redhat 
builds *should* be bigger, since we include java support, which is 
missing in redhat/fedora's builds.

All-in-all, the most probable explanation is that your current ooo build 
*does* include debugging.
