OF course an unmultilibed system has no glibc for i386 anymore, so
this is expected behaviour.

That would affect more than one system and the list would be full of
complaints ;)
remove apt, remove /var/*/apt/* and reinstall apt. The post the exact
output from apt-get update and apt-get install mythtv-suite.
