I haven't tried (mostly due to lack of non-nvidia cards), but I cannot
imagine that they have a compatibility layer (the API will be
compatible, but libGL.so.1 will most probably be non-functional).

These provides are not explicitely gathered, but automatically created
by rpm. But there are ugly, but straighforward ways to remove a
selected set.
