You need a newer kernel first, then the kernel module helper (part of
atrpms) and then the kernel module for ipw2100 and probably arc4. It
is easier to follow the installation instructions at ATrpms
(http://ATrpms.net/install.html).

An

apt-get install kernel-module-{arc4,ipw2100}-2.4.20-35.9

for instance should be enough.
