I have a working version here, tested on F12:
http://people.atrpms.net/~pcavalcanti/srpms/vlc-1.1.0-53.fc12.src.rpm
The vlc plugin does not build for F12. In this case,
it should be built using --without mozilla
F13 is fine, though...
It also builds for rhel5, but I could only use the aa driver,
that is, the video output is somehow broken.
More tests are needed for rhel5 to figure what is happening,
but I do no have time for this at the moment.
Therefore, I would go with caution with version 1.1.0.
