The latest kernel patches in RHEL5's kernel broke alsa. Probably not a
big thing, but someone needs to either take the time and patch up alsa
or at least report to alsa upstream, so the next alsa (pre)release
gets a workaround (the breakage is in the kernel rpm, not alsa, but
the work still need to be done on alsa's side as the kernel is
untouchable).

Use --define "kmdl_userland 0" when calling rpmbuild

If you find a patch I'll thank you twice as much :)

Also note that the latest kernel rpm has an updated alsa which for many
people made it unneccessary to use alsa-kmdls on RHEL5. Of course
there are many who still need it for the differences to 1.0.15.
