If the udev rules are broken, then lirc isn't seeing the devices and
possibly just bails out. So one needs to fix these rules first. I
wasn't aware of udev incompatibilities from FC5 to FC6, but obviously
there are some. :/

You can try to manually create the devices so you can test further
functionality.

If you or anyone else comes up with new udev rules (preferably such
that also work with previous FC versions and RHEL4), then please
submit them, thanks!
