Well, FC5 and FC4 builds are more or less identical except the
environment provided by the different distributions. But I don't think
that other thna gcc and glibc there is anything else that differs in
building lirc/mythtv/mplayer etc.

That sounds quite strange.  What was the rpevious version of mythtv
that was only half as bad?

That sounds like a configusration issue on gnome.

Other than the gnome issue I don't think that FC4 and FC5 differ that
much, at least not the ATrpms components. For heretism's sake you
could even try soem FC4 parts (not the kmdls of course) on FC5 and see
whether that makes any difference.

But I'd take the repeating mythtv buttons to mythtv/lirc lists for a
better diagnosis. Since lirc alone seems to do well it looks like
mythtv has an issue (but that's just a superficial first look, the
details may point back to something else once better diagnosed).
