[ATrpms-devel] lirc on 2.6.18

Hi folks -

I noticed this weekend while setting up my new MythTV box that there
is not a lirc kmod for 2.6.18. A couple hours later (and teaching
myself a few of the ins and outs of building RPMs), I discovered this
is likely due to the fact that 2.6.18 lacks udev, and as such lirc
won't compile.

The following patch (courtesy of the Gentoo folks) removes the udev
dependancy and allows the lirc kmod to compile successfully from the
srpm available from ATrpms (with the spec modified appropriately to
execute the patch).

lirc-0.8.0-kernel-2.6.18.diff?view=markup

I will be happy to post the modified spec tonight (the modifications
are very minor) if folks would like me to. I would provide the rpm I
built, except I disabled all but hauppauge support, so it won't be
generally useful - but is available if anybody wants it.

Thanks,
/-Will
