Well, I recreated
/etc/sysconfig/lircd
/etc/udev/rules.d/lirc.rules
But I do not know how to find out when to use each approach.
I just have one brand of capture card. In my country we use PAL-M,
which is an abortion of the nature, NTSC resolution with PAL color system.
Unless people publish in the list whether their remotes are supported by the
kernel or not I have no way to tell it. Another interesting information
would be which capture cards work well with mythtv, and what parameters they
need. Since ATrpms is one of the main sources fot myth, we could get some
interesting data.
If users email me directly with this information, I can organize the results
and publish somewhere.
