Yes, you can, it is a matter of (lack of) human resources.

No, there are no 2.6 kernel module sources in lm_sensors 2.10.x, they
are immediately injected into the kernel sources. So you would have to
extract the patches from the current 2.6 kernel and adapt them to
some 2.6 range. Or if you are interested in only one kernel version,
e.g. RHEL4's, then adapt the sources to that kernel only.
