Have you tried using the xen0 kernel? It is turned off there for
probably similar reasons as for openafs.

Other than that I would leave the decision of removing .rodata to
Matthias, the kernel rpms are his babies :)

(BTW while googling about CONFIG_DEBUG_RODATA I found a month's old
post+patch by leo on this list about the same issue embedded in
another mail, sorry for not noticing back then)
