Hi,

I bought a new disc and installed FC5 on it. However, spca5xx is freezing
fedora 5,
as soon as any application using the camera is called.
I tried kernels 2.6.17-1.2139 and 2.6.17-1.2145 (gcc 4.1), but it works in
FC4 2.6.17-1.2139 (gcc 4.0.2),
as long as video4linux is not installed.

Have you compiled spca5xx for FC5 with or without v4l? If the answer is yes,
maybe this is the cause. Otherwise,

I found the link below where it is suggested to compile with
-fno-unit-at-a-time.
I also do not think is has anything to do with the stack size. It is very
unlike
that the compile is generating code using more than 4k.

Anyway, I have been using the camera in FC4 with all sort of programs with
no problem at all.

As soon as I know if you used or not v4l,
I will try to recompile the module with the option above.

Another point. Does anyone know how to load lirc_gpio at boot time?
In FC4 I had a modified rc.sysinit, but this file in FC5 is very different
from FC4.

Thank you,

/Paulo Roma.
