Hi, Axel

now about smart. I had to remove the file

/var/lib/smart/config

Otherwise smart does not read new channels. Even if I altered the
description
of a channel, or deleted a channel in /etc/smart/channels, nothing changed.

It seems to me that I should have installed only atrpms-package-config
and used smart. So, it recorded the channel descriptions in the config file.
Later when, I installed meddley, the new channels were just ignored
forever.
Not very user friendly ....

/Paulo Roma.
