[ATrpms-devel] New redhat 7.3 kernel

I installed the new redhat 7.3 kernel - 2.4.20-43_41.rh7.3.at
but the nvidia driver 7174 did not start X. I tried to recompile
the driver and the result was the same. I am using a Samsung flat panel.
No error message in the XFree86 log file. The module has been loaded,
but does not work.

Also, I updated alsa to 1.0.9, and recompiled the driver to the previous 
version of the
kernel - 2.4.20-37_40.rh7.3.at. I have an onboard sound (cmidia 8738) from 
Asus.
In the previous version of the driver, the recording volume was too low 
(although capture was at the maximum). In the new version the volume is 
still too low, but "alsamixer -V capture" aborts:

alsamixer: simple.c:1975: snd_mixer_selem_get_enum_item: Assertion `helem' 
failed.

The hardware is OK, because I am able to use skype on Windows XP. However 
with
this alsa driver (snd-cmipci) it is impossible to hear what is spoken. Any 
suggestion?
