[ATrpms-devel] ivtv and lirc 2.6.10-1.741_FC3 problems

I am trying to get MythTV set up using Jarod Wilson's "Fedora Myth(TV)ology 
HOWTO"
After a lot of searching and frustration, I found a way to get ivtv working 
(thank you James Pifer):

# cd /lib/modules/$KVER/updates/drivers/media/video
# mv tveeprom.ko tveeprom.ko.orig
# mv tveeprom-ivtv.ko tveeprom.ko
# mv msp3400.ko msp3400.ko.orig
# mv msp3400-ivtv.ko msp3400.ko

Now, after I get to the point of installing and testing lirc, I don't get 
anything from the remote:
