I think the hesitancy is largely because ATrpms caters to so many end-users,
many of which aren't IT folks, whereas most RHEL3 installs are in a company,
where there are IT folks. I believe its a matter of audience.
As an aside, we compile plenty of our own stuff where I work, and have kernel
sources installed on pretty much all our boxes. We're still running the vast
majority of about 150 machines on RHL7.3, but will be switching to RHEL3
shortly (in-house rebuild though -- we're cheap). However, like I said, most
of our hardware is getting a little long in the tooth (save our Sun Fire
V880, V480 and Dell 1655 blade servers, we've got mostly dual to quad-proc
PIII & PIII Xeon PowerEdge 2450 and 6350 boxes), so we don't have much
hardware new enough that there isn't already driver support. I just went to
install the ATrpms dkms build on my workstation, but I'm getting dep errors,
so time to file a bug report for Axel... =)

And I presume the rest can be downloaded from Dell's web site, correct?
