[ATrpms-devel] Upcoming repo updates: smart

Hi all,
hope you had some nice time during the Xmas break.
In the last week I have been preparing quite a load of packages that
were quite intertwined together so an in-between update was quite
difficult to do (which is why the yum Requires: Requires bug is still
in the online repo).
The package that stirred this up was mainly smart
(http://smartpm.org/). It is a very promising alternative to apt and
yum, but in ATrpms' context it makes sense only if it can besupported
for all platforms. As it requires a very recent python and pygtk2 this
cascaded into a lot of neccessary base package upgrades like
python24, tcl/tk, gtk2, libtiff, libglade2, libXft, libXrender,
gtk-doc, atk, pango, freetype, fontconfig, rpm, yum, yum20,
up2date/rhnlib
and some more.
I would like to release them in bleeding, but that would break a lot
of atrpms-kickstart startup procedures (I'm thinking mainly of Jarod's
guide). Releasing them straight into stable is asking for a different
kind of troubles.
I'm leaning towards going bleeding. Any opinions?
