[ATrpms-devel] Canonical names/device ids for further lirc instances.

Hi,

for some applications there are more than one lirc instance needed
(e.g. receive & transmit, multiple remotes etc.). I know there are
about 100 well written recipes for doing so, but if it will be
packaged it should be using the developers' suggested approach.

What device/daemon names should be used and what additional device
ids? Would it be a good time to standardize this? What is the
developers' best recipe to create N lirc instances, of which some of
them are used for transmitting, or more generally having N1 lirc
receiving instances and N2 lirc transmitting instances.

And finally: Is there any chance that lirc would be doing this out of
the box sometime in the near future? :)

Thanks!
